He started his research by typing in what is the current situation on refugees in Europe. While researching he began with Europe and the story that he heard about how while at celebration for the country, women reported being molested and assaulted by men from Africa. He was shocked because he grew up in the city of Homer where, it was basically known for having true immigrants living there and the stories he heard was unbelievable and shocking to hear about. He notices that when he researched that topic that all the things that were listed gave the intention of crises and unwanted places where immigrants couldn't migrate or enter. One fact mentioned in this interview was that, he wasn't good with the internet. With that being said, he agreed and thought every article he came across was true. For example, he thought that one picture he saw had a plot to it that contradicted his reasoning when in reality it was completely opposite to what the real plot was really about.
To make sure that sites are credible, you have to look at the publisher and the site itself. Usually sites that are credible they end with org or edu. Which are sites where those who have authority or have an expertise in the field post their findings/journals. It is really hard to talk about controversial topics without being biased sometimes, because your opinions become conflicted to what is being stated at some parts. My research paper is on African Americans and whether they embrace their culture at a PWI better than HBCU. It is a topic that is on my mind because I have friends that have attended both and I had the option to go to a HBCU.
