There is a controversy with the video games and affects of it on There are common rumors to where, video games are said to cause violence with in the behavior in adolescent. I have encountered many of those who do not condone in activities displayed in the virtual life of video games but are very intellectual. In this article, it talks about a study done on participates who played video games. It states, that those who play games with violence develop a bigger learning capacity than those who play games with no action, it because over time they begin to be talented in many skills from fast-paced video games. In, fast pacing video games, our brains are constantly trying to keep up with the different scenarios and predict what would be the best move to make next. Researcher Bavelier, believed that video games produce better models within the brain to enhance prediction skills. She tested this by having 10 gamers play an intense game called, " Call of Duty," while another set of 10 gamers played, "The Sims," which had little to no stimulation compared to Call of Duty. Each group played for 50 hours over 9 week period, with the outcome that the action video gamers had an accelerated learning curve. It mentions that playing a video game is like training your brain, while also building new connections with nerves. Parts of the brain that are affected by playing video games are the right hippocampus, right prefrontal cortex, and cerebellum, which controls the functions for memory, motor skills within the hands, and planning strategically. Brain flexibility, is the name that some researchers call it.
